We are Sorocua, a travel agency in Maracay
Agencia de Viajes y Turismo Sorocua is a travel agency in Maracay, Aragua state, Venezuela, with 13 years of experience. We arrange packages across Aragua and the rest of Venezuela, international trips, flights and Interwelt travel insurance. We're listed in the National Tourism Registry (RTN 12529) and are AVAVIT members.
Our story
Sorocua was born in Maracay 13 years ago as a full-service travel agency: from the plane ticket to the last day of your trip. Over time we built partnerships with tour operators across Venezuela and abroad, so we can tailor proposals to each traveler, from a beach day trip to a journey outside the country.
From day one we've championed inbound tourism in Aragua. Its coast, its mountains, Colonia Tovar and Henri Pittier National Park are home to us, and through campaigns like “Aragua lo tiene todo” (Aragua has it all) we've invited travelers from all over Venezuela to discover them.
Today we welcome you at our office in C.C. Parque Aragua, on WhatsApp and by phone, with the same personal touch as always.
Why Sorocua? The bird behind the name
In Venezuela, sorocuá is the name given to several species of trogons: birds with glossy green backs, red or yellow bellies depending on the species, and long barred tails. They spend long stretches perched still among the branches, so spotting one takes patience and a sharp eye.
Several sorocuá species live in Henri Pittier National Park, just minutes from Maracay. We took our name and the figure in our logo from this bird: a reminder of the nature right on our doorstep, which we love to share with the people who travel with us.

To become, in the medium term, a leading inbound tour operator in Aragua state, showcasing the region's destinations and tourism potential to Venezuelan and international travelers.
